I find nothing in the IRS website that states that.

Why is TurboTax so indicating?   Are you awaiting Form 7206 (the title of this thread?)  

And are you using Online TurboTax or desktop software?

The availability table shows green checkmarks, indicating that Form 7206 was released tonight and should be in this week's current update which is happening now and overnight.    If you are using desktop software, be sure to update your product to get the latest update.   If your desktop software doesn't get the update now, then try again in the morning (Thursday).

NOTE:  Filing a paper return will delay the return's processing by several weeks, or in some cases, months.   A paper return should only be a last resort--especially this early in filing season when kinks are being worked out.   It's well within your best interest to wait on a form and then efile.  Hopefully, you'll be able to get it tonight or in the morning.

Form 7206 is now available, but neither my Federal nor my state return can be e-filed with this form included. Will TurboTax fix this (now) or do you plan to refund the value of e-file for the affected customers?

I am having the same issue. The form says it is available for e-file in the status page, but TT tells me I am not eligible to e-file because I have that form.

Finally resolved (for me).

While other providers such as HR Block got their act together more quickly, TT was slower in integrating the new form into their platform thus why they said filing wouldn't be possible until 2/7. That day came and we all realized it still wasn't possible. TT Support online just said to keep trying as the day went on then radio silence as it seemed they realized it would be delayed but didn't want to communicate that to customers for some reason. Then they made their second error of sending out an email that it was ready but again still not available for any customers that I'm aware of. Presumably it was scheduled to go out at a certain time and was too late to cancel that even though the 7206 feature was delayed. What a nightmare. And while on the website app it always kept saying 2/7 it appears other places such as maybe the mobile app or desktop app, it changed from 2/7 to coming soon. As of 2/8 a day late, it's finally all working on the "web app". No longer throughs the 7206 error and lets you efile. Hopefully Intuit has learned from this experience about properly communication issues with their customers as on social they were mistakenly blaiming peoples devices rather than admitting the problem.

Worse it seems for people using other methods, possibly the desktop app? Its now saying they can't efile, which presumably is a bug since efile is working normally on the web version. It sounds like mobile is working but can't personally speak to that.

I'm using desktop and still cannot efile.

"You won't be able to e-file your return" because "You have form 7206 Self-Employed Health Insurance Deduction that is not supported for electronic filing."

If you are using TurboTax for Desktop, please be sure you have the most recent update dated February 7, 2024. You can view all updates by choosing "Online" from the TurboTax header, then clicking on "View Installed Updates." Click the plus sign (+) next to the first line of Program Updates. This should give you the date of your last update. Form 7206 was released with the 2/7/24 update.
 

TurboTax normally runs an update each time you open the program. You can exit and restart to check for updates.

Also, Form 7206 is listed as ready for e-file on the Forms Availability List. I have this form in a test return, and it has no errors (TurboTax Home & Business for Windows PC).

Yes. The software updated this morning and I got the form. But it won't let me e-file. I can only file by paper mail.

Hi!  Feb 8th & now when I try to efile it says I have the file via hard copy due to IRS regs.  Will this issue be resolved?  I would like to efile.  thanks

If you are still getting an error, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2023" file that is experiencing this issue.You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
 

1. Then select Tools below Tax Tools.
2. A window will pop up which says Tools Center.
3. On this screen, select Share my file with Agent.
4. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
5. Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.

Here are the instructions if you are using TurboTax CD/Download:
 

1. Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax CD/Download for Windows
2. Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'
3. Write down or send an image of your token number then place in this issue.
4. We can then review your exact scenario for a solution.
5. Please also tell us any states included in the return.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

Today is 2/8/24 and the TurboTax software is now saying that electronic filing is not allowed for form 7206 and tax returns must be mailed. This cannot be expected of every self-employed person filing taxes. Will e-file be available if form 7206 is required to be submitted with your taxes???
