@JBK this "workaround" seems just a clickbait post.
I'm not sure what the real purpose of that post is but THERE IS NO WORKAROUND in that post.
That’s what I was referring to in my new post above. You may want to add your thoughts there to see if we can collectively get some decent action. Where is says “Search a question or keyword” above, type Form 7206 Workaround and it will pop up for you.
Not clickbait.
The workaround for the problem they are having with efiling the desktop version, is to go around the problem and give us an alternative way to file. The on-line version does that. Offering that workaround gives us a choice. It also takes some pressure of the coders who are trying to debug their software. They can use tokens or whatever else they find convenient. But the main message is to get the job done of efiling. This issue has gone on far too long and has been poorly communicated. It is time for the users to insist on something beyond business as usual. We should also know how far this issue has been escalated. For the life of me, I don’t “get” what level of management is tolerating this inadequate performance.

Where is the workaround - the links go nowhere .
Before I retired I used pro series which is put out by Intuit and we had our problems with tax forms there also. The problem is diffently Intuit.
Yes, I certainly do want to support what you wrote. Any suggestions how best to do that?
This has not been resolved on a microsoft desktop version. In my opinion this is strictly a Turbo Tax issue. The IRS acceps form 7206 for e-filing. It appears when they updated it the programming to e-file was not done properly. I expect this to be fixed with the next update. I have no idea if the online version is working.
At first my fear somehow i had been duped into filing with a fake site but after seeing hundreds of posts with same issue i dont think its a hack its just turbo tax screwed up and isnt in a hurry to fix it,,maybe they are in more trouble with IRS than is being reported,,friends is showing pending since fri,,he is going to refile with hr block
Thanks for responding. The “Workaround” exists and is under the control of TT. I’ve described it without trying to micromanage it. It seems to me that it is up to the users affected to pressure TT to offer a constructive alternative since they haven’t been able so far to fix their bug. If enough users are dissatisfied with TT performance, both in fixing bugs and communicating, TT should hear about it until the get the job done. There are “Experts” who monitor these posts, and TT employees who do as well. The have the capability to escalate problems.
It seems to me that if we do nothing, then that is just what we will get.
Turbo Tax support [phone number removed]
I spoke with them yesterday.... no timeframe when this issue will be resolved. I am using download version & they didn't know if it may work using online version. I finished & don't want to pay again but if online version works I will. Anyone using online version? I must file ASAP (identity theft victim) TIA
@electaxfl Thanks for responding. What I plan to do is to cut in any “Experts” and TT employees on the results of the suggested Workaround. I’m not trying to bellyache; instead suggest a reasonable constructive alternative that is a win-win solution for both TT and their customers.
I cut you and some others in by name since you had good ideas in your posts. If you have more, I think we would all benefit from seeing those. TT needs to see that they have exceeded the boundaries of patience. In this case, more posts are now better.
For the convenience of everyone, including Tax Experts and other TT employees, here is the content of my recent new post:
****************
Like many of you, I signed up for notifications re the 7206 bug. This morning I received an inadequate boilerplate update from TT saying they’re working on it. Period.
How many of you would like to receive a specific notification (one that does not rely on just rumor) today that states that their Target Date for the fix is Thursday; that as a backup measure, by Thursday, they will announce detailed procedures how we can all have our completed desktop returns automatically imported to the On-Line version at no charge?
************
I hope all take this as a constructive alternative to pursue in addition to fixing the desktop bug itself. If you agree, please add your voice so that the moderators of this forum can see the magnitude of this issue and move quickly towards a solution. Both the bug correction effort and the communication surrounding it are simply inadequate at this point.
As of Feb 12th, this has not been resolved.

Great Idea! where do we send the emails?
I just called TurboTax on Feb. 12, 2024, the date I am writing this. There is a technical problem with Form 7206. It is supposed to be fixed by Feb. 18. The agent told me to just wait and try e-filing again, anytime after Feb. 18.
