Form 540 line 12-State Wages does not equal the sum of the stte wages entered on the Form W2 Worksheet (s) Box 16. Note I do not have any W2s! How do I clear this error ? Can't file State taxes un til I do? Thankw Dave

You can try deleting that Worksheet from TurboTax to see if you can e-file using the instructions below. Was it the W2 & W2G Summary? I will refer to it as your W-2 Worksheet. It will work this way for all worksheets that are in your tax return.

To delete a Worksheet, you can do the following if you are using TurboTax Desktop:

1. Click on "Forms" at the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode"
2. In your left panel search for "Form W-2 Worksheet"
3. Click on "Form W-2 Worksheet" and it will appear in your right panel
4. At the bottom left of your "Form W-2 Worksheet" click on Delete Form
5. A box will appear to confirm the deletion, Select "Yes"

If you are using TurboTax Online you can:

1. Continue your return
2. Choose "Tax Tools" option on the left menu bar in the federal section of TurboTax
3. Choose "Tools"
4. Under "Other Helpful Links" choose "Delete a form"
5. Find the Form W-2 Worksheet and click on the option to delete it

The suggestion does not work.  There is no W-2 or W-2 worksheet and TurboTax Desktop still can't understand that 0 is 0.  The State wages, which are 0 does not equal the sum of the state wages entereed on the Form W-2 worksheet Box 116.  There is no such worksheet.  This is maddening.

I was able to get it to work by creating a W2 with the phony employer of Turbo Tax Artifact and setting the amounts to zero.   No EIN was needed.  This is why I hate Turbo Tax.   Stupid little stuff that just sucks time.
