No---reviewing the previous year's return is not a service provided by TurboTax Live. Sorry. They will only work on the current tax year.
Sounds like you may have had some confusion or some mistakes last year with the "do-it-yourself" software. If you made mistakes you will need to amend. If you need to have the returns reviewed by a tax pro, seek that help from a local paid tax expert to help everyone understand why you owed.
And......are you sure your parents' return was e-filed successfully and accepted?
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
Thank you for the assistance. Doesn't the Turbo Tax do it yourself software guarantee they were done correctly? Is there something I need to do to have that verified? How can I do that if so? Are there Turbo Tax related tax people locally we can contact for assistance?
And, yes, positive they were filed, have screenshots and the emails saying they were each accepted, State and Federal.
Any suggestions on how to find the most qualified and someone with TurboTax expertise to assist locally? Any credentials to look for?
Thanks so much for the help!
Turbo Tax is a self prepared return. They only guarantee the calculations are right based on your entries. They won't know if you entered something wrong or twice or in the wrong place or left something out. It doesn't check against any outside sources. The IRS has copies of all the W2s and 1099s your employer and banks/brokers, etc. sent in to match against. Turbo Tax only checks the calculations of what you entered. It is your responsibility to check it over before you file.

Sorry--no, there are no "brick and mortar" locations where you can go to seek help from a TurboTax employee. TurboTax has no storefront locations at all. If you need someone to look at your old returns you need to seek local paid help--it will not be from TT.
