Federal Tax filing deadline for Louisiana for 2020.

Federal Tax filing deadline for Louisiana is June 15, 2021, according to TurboTax website

But TurboTax software shows May 17, 2021, same as other states. When TurboTax will be updating this date for  Louisiana residents?

Apparently it's June 15th for both Federal and State.....LA extended it to match the Federal since it's in a disaster zone.

(Texas Federal filings were extended too)

TTX does need to explain to the users how this is to be handled....or get it integrated into the software to be described succinctly.

Sorry you can not efile an extension now.  You will have to print and mail it by midnight.

@cne5191 It is not possible to e-file an extension request now.   If you wanted to e-file a form 4868 you had to do that by May 17, 2021.   Now your only way to send in an extension request is by mail----by midnight tonight.  An extension does not give you extra time to pay tax owed----it only gives you extra time to prepare and file your Form 1040.

You can not file it online.  You have to print out the form 4868 and mail it yourself.  Turbo Tax can prepare it but you have to print and mail it.  Or here is a blank one.

Sorry you do not understand what we are saying.  Print out a blank extension form 4868 and fill it out by hand and MAIL it.
