Hi I recently purchased a EV hybrid car is there any tax credit for a non plug in EV hybrid vehicle

That is a good question. The IRS guidance specifies a plug-in hybrid only for the federal tax credit. This a good reference with information on the credit and vehicles that qualify: https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/credits-for-new-clean-vehicles-purchased-in-2023-or-after
State credits may vary- so you could check that possibility. What state are you located in? I hope this information helps!
Hi @charming2424 ,
Excellent question. Since traditional hybrid vehicles rely primarily on combustion and do not use a plug to charge, they do not qualify for tax credits at the federal level. Credits apply to plug-in electric vehicles which includes plug-in hybrid EVs and battery electric.
Hope that answers your question.

I live in the state of Hawaii
Hello again, @charming2424
Currently Hawaii is not offering EV incentives for new car purchases whether plug-in or not. I hope you are enjoying your vehicle and savings on gasoline though!!
