This seems to be a MAJOR issue with TurboTax Home and Business and perhaps other versions.
My 1095A from Healthcare.gov has $0.00 in Column B. (SLCSP). I was amazed that the software didn't walk me through updating this info manually.
Anyway - I got the appropriate SLCSP from the Healthcare.gov website. It instructs me to enter the data on lines 12-23 on form 8962. Turbotax won't let me override the data that was transferred from my 1095A, so I can't follow the IRS instructions.
Question is how to handle this without setting the IRS off. Should I just enter the manually obtained SLCSP on my 1095A entry? Won't this cause a problem with the IRS, since it doesn't match the issued 1095A?
Entering the SLCSP amount gives me an $18,000 increase in my refund!

I also need the answer to the same question. My concern, if 1095A is manually modified with SLCSP, and is different than the form received from healthcare.gov, would the IRS flag that? Further more, here is the extract from i8962 instruction form: The two situations
in which your SLCSP may not be accurately reflected on your
Form 1095-A are the following.
1. No APTC was paid for your coverage. If no APTC was
paid for your or your family member’s coverage, the SLCSP
premium reported in Part III, column B, lines 21 through 32, of
Form 1095-A may be wrong, left blank, or reported as -0-. To
determine your applicable SLCSP premium for each month, see
Pub. 974 or, if you enrolled through the federally facilitated
Marketplace, go to HealthCare.gov/Tax-Tool/. ,
I believe form 8962 has to be decoupled from form 1095-A for just these situation. I do not know if TT is allowing that decupling. Any intelligent answer is appreciated.
In order to make this change, @pennlewis and @AL0310, you're going to need to modify the data that you entered into the 1095-A. Column B is the cost of a comparable health insurance plan and is ok to change on there (although I would keep the data you received that shows the SLCSP that should have been on the form in case the IRS has questions).
So go through column B and change the zeroes to the amount that you were given. Once you've done that you can go ahead and file the return. Your concerns are valid - the IRS matches forms and this may cause a delay in processing so be prepared for that. The only way to get around that would be to get the healthcare marketplace to issue a corrected 1095-A and they are reluctant to do that.
