Entering SLCSP not on form 1095a - IRS says manual entry should happen on Form 8962 - form is locked. $18,000 question!
This seems to be a MAJOR issue with TurboTax Home and Business and perhaps other versions.
My 1095A from Healthcare.gov has $0.00 in Column B. (SLCSP). I was amazed that the software didn't walk me through updating this info manually.
Anyway - I got the appropriate SLCSP from the Healthcare.gov website. It instructs me to enter the data on lines 12-23 on form 8962. Turbotax won't let me override the data that was transferred from my 1095A, so I can't follow the IRS instructions.
Question is how to handle this without setting the IRS off. Should I just enter the manually obtained SLCSP on my 1095A entry? Won't this cause a problem with the IRS, since it doesn't match the issued 1095A?
Entering the SLCSP amount gives me an $18,000 increase in my refund!
