Editing investment sales

There would be no problem if this section of the program was written in the same size typeface as all other sections. Everything would then appear on the one page. The gray bar that lets you scroll to the right side of the section and see the change buttons is also not immediately obvious the way it is designed.

Running the desktop version on a Mac. Just updated the software and returned to a return that was in progress. Some transactions say "review" others do not. Now there is no scroll bar AND no edit or delete options. This font switching and format changing is bizarre and only happens once you go into certain sections. Been using TurboTax for years and never seen anything like it.

My current view after deleting multiple transactions. Every delete brings up another "Needs Review." Can not see transaction info at all.

You would need to click on the pencil icon to see transaction info.  If you’ve imported info for stocks, options, crypto, bonds, and/or mutual funds, and you have more than 25 transactions that need review, you could be missing any of the following:

• Cost basis
• Date acquired
• Description
• Proceeds
• Date sold

There are a couple of ways to fix this issue, one of which is using the Summary Method of reporting.

Did you see the screenshot? I can scroll to the left to see which transaction is involved but the software is clearly glitching and producing multiple "Needs Review" icons. There are so many that I can not see which security transaction is related to each line without using the scroll bar. The view of the entire investment section is messed up. The font changes and creates an area that requires the use of a scroll bar to view things. This does not happen with any other section of the software.

Some TurboTax customers with 1099-Bs may be seeing an issue when trying to delete sales where if a sale says needs review and a sale is deleted, the "Needs Review" is replicated. 

When deleting enough sales, the needs review will populate to the point of not being able to see the trash can. 

To work around this, scroll to the bottom of the page and then scroll to the right. The trash can will then be visible. We apologize for this inconvenience.   @ny8699

I agree. This is a step backward. I am unable to edit ANY information in the investment sales. This is so very uncharacteristic of TurboTax that it took me forever to admit it might be TT's fault. I was certain I was the problem!

I don't have an Edit or Delete button. This has been the most frustrating thing I've ever encountered in TurboTax.

On the Investment Sales Summary screen, if you have a grey scroll bar shown on the bottom of the Summary window, scroll the bar to the right and you will see the Edit button and the Trash Can symbol.

The left/right scroll bar is difficult to find because it is not visible until you first scroll to the bottom. After scrolling to the right, you have to scroll back up to the transaction you want to edit which is now at least partially obscured on the left hand side from having scrolled to the right. You may need to note the values of the transaction to identify the correct one for editing.

These types of bugs should not exist in commercial software and is really disappointing after having such a high quality product for so many years.

I have repeatedly tried to delete an entry (that added by my error) y clicking the box to the right of "untitled" and then clicking the trash can.  When I do this the entire page is shaded, but I can't delete the one I don't want.  I am using a Mac desktop version of TT.  What should I do to get rid of this entry?

Thank You!  What a terrible UI design on the page.  For others, there is a tiny scroll bar in the little window showing the investment.  You scroll right and you will see delete after the "cut off" Edit button.  Turbo Tax - please fix this very bad design.
