My e-file has been rejected twice for an incorrect AGI. I downloaded my 2020 IRS transcript and have confirmed the AGI I used to verify my 2021 e-file. I also confirmed my 2020 e-file was accepted by the IRS. A Turbotax agent told me yesterday that there's an investigation into this problem and that I should wait until I hear back from Turbotax before I try to refile. However, I received an email from Turbotax hours after that call that says "If you are sure that your AGI is correct and are still receiving this error you may need to mail it in." There was no mention of an investigation or that I should wait to refile until I hear back from them. I'm using their Self-employed download software.
Is anyone else getting an IRS e-file rejection for an AGI that you are 100% sure is correct? Has anyone else who has the same issue been told an investigation is ongoing into it and not to refile until Turbotax gives the go-ahead?

Try using zero.
Using 0 worked... thanks.
I got rejected both with the correct AGI and when entering 0. The rejection notice said:
The IRS couldn't confirm <spouse>'s identify
It looks like the AGI amount entered for <spouse> into TurboTax before filing didn't match what the IRS has in their database.
It seemed odd that it specifically pointed at my spouses AGI when we file Married Filing Jointly. Lacking any advice that allows us to successfully efile, we'll wait and try again in early April and then if it still fails fall back to filing a printed copy.
Did you enter the same AGI for both you and your spouse? I'm assuming you filed as Married Filing Jointly for 2020.
If not, you need to enter the AGI for each of you from your last year's return (they will be different amounts in that case).
Since we can't see your return in this forum, if you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and retry.
Make sure your spouse's info in the My Info section matches what's on their Social Security Card.
One last thing to consider; has your 2020 return been processed? If not, that can cause an AGI error.
If you're still having trouble, we suggest that you check with the IRS to make sure that the copy of your return is the same as what they have in their records. To do this, you can order a transcript from the IRS.

TurboTax only asked for one AGI, I did not see anywhere to enter separate AGIs for each of us. In any case, our 2020 return shows only one AGI, the joint AGI. I also retrieved our 2020 transcript from the IRS and verified the return was processed and the AGI shown there is the joint AGI and is correct. And I did verify both my and my spouse's info in TurboTax.
I did have to paper file for 2020 due to an issue with form 1116 (I don't recall the exact issue), but the transcript retrieved from the IRS shows the return as was submitted by paper.
My return was rejected too for incorrect AGI. I entered zero and resubmitted but was rejected the 2nd time. If I have to mail my return, how do I get my money back for e-diling.
Same happened to me so I had to dust off my printer and do things the primitive way.
@alewisb2309 If you used online you do not get money back for mailing it. Your fee is for using the software---there was no extra fee for e-filing. it is the same whether you e-file or file by mail. If you used the CD/download and paid for e-filing the state and could not file then you can ask customer support for your $25.
