@donwhite824 Why do you think you need to pay the tax due before you can file? As the prior answer says you can pick to mail a check. What is stopping you from filing? Are you getting an error? Where are you stuck? Go through the File tab all the way to the end. It doesn’t file until you hit the big Transmit Returns Now button. Did you get that far?
Paying your TurboTax fee does not file your tax return. No, you do not have to pay your federal or state tax due in order to file your tax return. There are several ways to pay your tax due, but TurboTax does not make you pay before you can e-file. In fact, TurboTax never knows when, how or even if you paid your tax due. If you are having trouble e-filing, it is for some other reason. What message are you getting when you try to e-file? Did you go all the way to the big orange button that says "transmit my returns?"
If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, (which has the address printed on it, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

You must pay your state tax due using the state’s preferred method of receiving payment. For most states that will be by making a payment to the state’s own tax website, or by mailing a check or money order.
