Direct Debit after eFile Date

I attempted to eFile a return and do a Direct Debit for the tax payment in TurboTax Desktop.

I received an error saying I was after the closing date for eFile. However, TurboTax Desktop says the direct debit was successful.

I now need to file the return by mail. Should I also send in a check when I file the return, or will the direct debit still take funds from my bank account?

Direct Debit after eFile Date

Yes since you can't efile then the direct debit info did not get sent.  Send a check or go online to pay the IRS and state.   You can pay the IRS directly at
https://www.irs.gov/payments
