Different filing status than last year

I am confused on what I need to do when I filed last year with "married filing joint." I got divorced and now I am filing " single."  It says I need to get some numbers from last years taxes and so forth. Help!?

No, as Tax Expert JamesG1 said earlier, you can use that number (on Line 24, 1040); if it matches your autopopulated amount, that's great.

If you filed a joint return for 2022 you need your AGI from line 11 of the 2022 Form 1040.  And it is still the same amount even if you are now divorced.   Your 2023 divorce does not change your 2022 AGI.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

If you don't have a copy of last year's tax return because of a change in life situations (and you can't get one somehow) then you can obtain a copy of your prior year's tax return from the IRS.  Just go to this link and create an account.  You'll be able to download copies of your prior years returns and get the numbers that you need.

I do have a copy of my 2022 taxes with me. I am just confused as to how to get the 2022 tax liability for 2210 purposes

Tax liability is on line 24 of the 2022 Federal 1040 tax return.

What other information do you need?

Oh, okay. So, if its the same number as what was auto populated then I dont need to worry about changing it?
