@no_shi2000 If you paid for it back in November did you finally get it downloaded and installed? You can buy an install CD for 2024 for $10 after you buy the download and a License Code
https://turbotax.intuit.com/lp/ttd/4021
You can burn the installation file to a CD or save to a usb flash drive. My Windows Download program is listed under Downloads and is named Windows_PC_TurboTax_Downloads.exe
Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account when you first install it, all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac) you can download it again.

In past years, you would get a CD with the program included on it. You would sign in or create an account to get updates, which you would get when it was convenient, or when doing final checks.
Everything was on your computer, instead of cloud based. This is the direction Intuit has gone.
After everything was finally over, for the Premier version it would cost nearly $90 with the CD. I'm sorry, I don't care how good it is, it's not worth paying 50% more for TurboTax vs. H&R Block for the same capabilities!
I ordered and paid for the alledged new stop-gap installation disk. It never arrived.
I called customer service to ask what happened to my disk. Customer service rep insists Turbotax no longer has a cd available--it's download only. I give her my order number. After another 10 minutes on hold she tells me she found the order but there's no tracking number on the shipment so there's nothing they can do about it.
The new lean, mean Intuit corporation . Sellling downloads that don't work, disks that never show up and customer service and tech reps whose only job is to get rid of angry frustrated customers as quickly as possible.
Turbotax is running ads on Facebook: "Help wanted. No tax experience necessary." That pretty much sums it up.
Congratulations on your finding H&R Block for "50% of TurboTax."
Alas, my poor old computer found ALL versions of H&R Block are within a few dollars as the same price as TurboTax.
I agree, I like the CD. Yes, I've read the posts below (online version is not the same as the download, download is the exact same as the CD, yes, got it). I still like the CD. I'd even pay extra for it if TT would burn just a few and ship one out to me. Seems like I wouldn't be alone.
And please don't tell me, "You'll get used to it. It will be ok." If TT does listen (for TY 2025, certainly too late for 2024), and does burn a few CD's and ship them out next year, personally, to those few of us who still want the CD, well, then you too will be fine, you too will get used to it.
@andthentherewas1 Did you see the posts above? You said you will pay extra for a CD? You can buy an install CD for 2024 for $10 after you buy the download and a License Code

Thank you, yes, I *just* saw that -- am working on it now. Seems I can go to Staples to buy the code ("Product Key Card" they call it), use my store coupon there, and then come back here and buy the CD? Is that correct, do you know?
Yes that will work. You can buy the package with the 16 digit License Code anywhere. There was one user who only bought the CD for $10 but didn't know she also had to buy the version and License Code separately. If you buy in the stores be sure you get the full package. Some places like Costco & Sam's you have to go to the pickup window after you pay to get it. Oh and if you buy Deluxe in the Stores it can come 2 ways, Deluxe with a State and Deluxe without a state for states without an income tax. So check the box closely.
OK, I rolled the dice. Went ahead and purchased the CD, Individual, b/c that said, "Products include:
Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Home & Business", and I want one of those. Btw, expected delivery 7-14 days, for any interested reader.
In small font, the page from the url in your post said:
" *You must purchase TurboTax Desktop software for tax year 2024 (from an authorized retailer or directly from TurboTax) and have a valid license code in order to install and activate the TurboTax software with the CD. This CD can only be used for install purposes and does not include a license code. Valid for US Desktop products only. "
So now I'm off to actually buy the code and use my store coupon, do the download etc, and then we'll see. Plan to reply and post here again if I figure out anything useful.
I bought TurboTax Home&Business for our PC and Mac, as the product advertises that it works for both and that we are allowed five copies. Without the CD, I was unable to activate the installed version on the Mac, as the activation code had been used on a PC. After a few hours of seeking an answer, including time on the phone with TurboTax service, I was told that in order to activate it on the Mac, I would have to use virtualization software or Bootcamp (creating a PC environment for my Mac) because the software was "primarily intended for the PC."
I do not think I should have to go to those lengths to activate software that was marketed as capable for both operating systems. I finally purchased a second copy of the software in order to get another activation code so that I can use it on my Mac. When we had the CD version, we didn't have this problem. Very unhappy.
Yes you can download the other operating system. To install on another computer you just have to log into your Intuit Online Account. Then you can get the other one. You can also now buy an install CD for $10 after you buy the program and license code.
See Need a download for a different operating system.

@candyrobin Oh you bought another program? You didn't need to. Try getting a refund for it.
You can use this online refund request form

What much ado about nothing! If you absolutely must have an external backup copy of your ttax program, go ahead and logon to your intuit account, download your ttax program. Then if you have a cd/DVD drive, burn the program and license code to a cd. If your computer doesn't have a CD drive you can buy an external one or copy the program to a USB drive. You then have your backup copy.
@candyrobin They probably thought you were asking about the separate Business program for 1065 Partnership or LLC or a 1120 including a Single Member LLC - S corp or a 1041 Estate/Trust returns. That is only available for Windows and won't install on Mac unless you use a Windows emulator.
