CatinaT1 then please stop with the non-answers containing lies!  The date to check back is now 3/6 according to the turbo tax software itself...please check your facts if you are an expert and no need to respond if you dont have accurate information...thank you!

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

I too have been waiting to file since the 14th of Feb. Ive messaged them on Facebook and all I get is the same as posted here.

Why is this such a problem? The worksheet form on the IRS site seems to have no issues.

I want my money!

The problem is likely the logic that is required to determine eligibility ina way that they can maintain there audit and max refund commitments...Still, i'm anxious to get my return as well.

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

I was able to file yesterday, the form was updated. It asked for geoid and latitude and longitude and after inputting it, the software filed my federal and state and both have already been accepted. Good luck everyone!

Same here.  I was able to file my taxes (finally) this morning after waiting since Feb 5th.

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

I just tried to do an amended return, and I updated Form 8911.  And it claimed that I AM INFACT eligible for it, despite my census tract is: 41067031506.

I think there is a bug in TT as I did this calculation manually, and my census tract DOES NOT OCCUR in either appendix A or B.

Caveat emptor.

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

Form was available today, 2/29/2024. Not that there seems to be a slight "problem" with thw way TurboTax handles the form. 8911 instructons sayt:

Line 12

Enter $1,000 for each item of refueling property you placed in service during your tax year.

which results in you not getting a tax credit. Solution is to click on the input area, open form where you can enter the $1000, close that form, close 8911, and your credit is now there.

My opinion is that TurboTax should have entered the $1000 automatically as there is no alternative.

So, when will TT for 2023 tax year have a complete implementation for Form 8911?  Currently, as of March 4, TT for 2023 does not properly implement the logic described in the worksheet for Form 8911 with respect to the census tract where the thing was installed compared to the two appendices A and B.

I read that March 6 is the date of the next update?  Is that true?

It's really awful that the support site for TT indicates that the implementation for Form 8911 is completed and ready for filing because it is not ready.

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

I spent two frustrating hours on March 4 on chat with TT on this issue. I think very clearly they are not implementing the Census Tract GEOID with reference to the **two different** appendices (low-income census tract *OR* non-urban census tract). I am in a non-urban census tract when I follow the instructions on Form 8911 Instructions Worksheet 1, but TT keeps telling me my credit is $0.

After failing in the chat, I kept trying different agents on TT yesterday to escalate, escalate, escalate. I finally reached a very nice human who said he was new to working with TT and after checking whatever sources he had access to, he said he sees they have a date for a revised Form 8911 - which I assume will work?? - and it is MARCH 10.

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

Thanks for the info.

BTW, when I manually follow the instructions for Form 8911, I am not eligible for the Tax Credit because the census tract where I installed my EV charger is not in either appendix A or B.  Oddly, when I use TT with the current (and incorrect implementation), TT says that I AM ELIGIBLE.

TT is losing lots of credibility in this.

Today is March 10, and I started TT and it did not bring any update down, and yet From 8911 still seems wrong to me.  Does anyone have any information about any updates from TT regarding Form 8911?

Form 8911 for tax year 2023 was updated and released over a week ago.

Why do you think it is wrong?

Date Form 8911 is available for TT 2023?

I was impatient waiting for the update for Form 8911, and I removed it from my return and then I e-filed my taxes before the last update for TT 2023 for Form 8911,WITHOUT ADDING FORM 8911, and I got my refund.  Now, I am trying to see if the update of TT for 8911 shows that I qualify for the tax credit.  So, I am amending my return and I enter all of the details for 8911 into TT - including my census tract.  But, THE LOGIC IN THE UPDATE FOR TT 2023 FOR FORM 8911 DOES NOT CONSIDER THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF my CENSUS TRACT IN APPENDIX A AND/OR B that are shown in the IRS instructions.  I do not see my census tract in either appendix when I search for it manually.

You can use this Gov Appendix  along with address locator in 8911 instructions.  The GEOID identifies the state, county and census tract.
