Can't save tax file where I want in a sub directory. I had to save it to Documents, quite TurboTax and move the file to where I wanted it and then open it. Why?

TurboTax show recent files but does not let me select a subfolder where I keep all my past tax file like it used to.  This seems to be a software problem that needs to be fixes.

Did you move the file to the directory where you want to keep it? 

If you do, and then open it in TurboTax, the program should default to that directory the next time you start the program.

That is a screwed up answer from Intuit.  The program should facilitate saving the file in any suitable folder.   Should not need to exit the program to move the file.  Amateur hour.  What is going on?  

Maybe we cannot trust this software company anymore.

The tax data file can be saved anywhere you want.

Just click on File at the top left of the TurboTax desktop program screen.  Click on Save As...

The default location for saving the tax data file will be listed.  All you need to do is change the location to where you want and save the file.  Simple and no change from all the other prior year TurboTax programs.

Try it.  The save dialogue window does not list the subfolders or provide an easy way to get to them.

Yep.  The folder selector is completely missing in TurboTax for 2023.
