Can I write off my Uber/Lyft rides to and from work?

I use uber/lyft M-F to get to and from work. Can I write this expense off?

No.

This is a nondeductible commuting expense. If there are Uber trips that are errands from one work location to another, you could deduct those Uber rides. However, you would need to keep a record that says the amount, date, and business purpose for your Uber expenses.

@NataliyaK You do NOT get to deduct the cost of using Uber, etc. to go to work.  The cost of commuting to work is not deductible.  period.
