Can I still e-file 2023 Taxes?

The 2023 tax returns will cannot be filed until January 2024.

A 2022 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed using TurboTax.

People have been preparing and filing returns for tax year 2022 in 2023.   You will not file a 2023 tax return until next year in 2024, when tax year 2023 is over.   And....you cannot e-file your 2022 return.  E-filing is closed for 2022 returns for users of TurboTax, so you have to file by mail now.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
