Can I pay Turbo Tax to deal with the IRS?

My efile was rejected on May 6th saying that someone else claimed one of my dependents already which did not happen to my knowledge.  I was forced to mail the return and have not heard even a whisper from the IRS regarding this.  I still have not received any mail or any tax return.

Can I pay Turbo Tax to deal with the IRS?

Sorry keep waiting.  The IRS is taking a lot longer this year to process returns, especially mailed returns.

You are not alone. Millions are still waiting. Turbo Tax only gives you an estimated date. The IRS usually pays most refunds within 21 days. But these are not normal times. This year is taking the IRS longer to send the refunds. There are millions more people filing returns to get the Stimulus payment.

Only the IRS can tell you. If your return was Accepted then check IRS Where's my refund

After you file your tax return, whether by e-file or by mail, TurboTax is done.   TT cannot intercede with the IRS for you.  The IRS will not tell TurboTax anything about your tax return, so, no, you cannot pay TT to deal with the IRS for you.

It is taking the severely backlogged IRS months to process mailed returns, so you just have to wait for them.

When the IRS opens its mail and begins to process mailed returns you can check the status on the IRS site. https://www.irs.gov/refunds

State returns have to be mailed to the state.

If you are wondering if you should send your return again——the IRS does not want you to file a second time.   Putting two tax returns into the system at the same time can lead to confusion and even more delays.   If you did not use tracking and do not know if the return was received—-you have to make your own judgement call and decide if you want to risk further delay by sending the return again.

go to IRS.gov and create "your account"

You can get your transcript and see what is going on with your return from the "record of account" statement.

You will probably find a code for "dependent claimed on another return"  or some such.
