I would like to switch from H&R Block tax program to Turbo Tax because I also use Quick Books & would like to import from it. I do not want to have to reenter static data such as name, address, SS#, etc. Also, for business returns I do not want to reenter fixed asset info.

I think you can. See answer here:
Can I import my HR Block online tax information from 2018 into my 2019 turbo tax online return?
You may be able to transfer your HR Block 2018 tax return to TT 2019 online if you have an electronic PDF file of your 2018 tax return.
"Select the method you used to file last year and use the onscreen help links and instructions to transfer your PDF and to change your filing status (single, married filing jointly, etc.) if different.
Keep in mind:
We support a wide number of other providers and keep expanding our capabilities.
In certain situations, the program might not accept a PDF, such as when it’s password-protected, a scan of a hard copy rather than an electronic PDF, and certain other cases. "
I did "Save As PDF" in HR Block 2019. It gave me 2 PDFs, one "For_Filing", another "For_Records". When I start a 2020 return in TT for Mac and follow the transfer process, I get an odd error: "This import was unsuccessful. We recommend you check your internet connection and try again." I gather that the process runs online, not from my desktop TT. But I find nothing wrong about my internet connection. To no avail, I tried removing the cover page from each of these PDFs, so that only the forms appeared.
You are able to transfer last year's PDF into the 2020 TurboTax for Mac, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. I have provided a link below for assistance on how to do so and reason's as to why it might not be working:
Can I transfer last year's PDF to 2020 TurboTax for Mac
If I can, I will go back to turbo tax
TurboTax for Windows personal CD/Download desktop software will transfer last year's tax data file (.tax2019 file) or PDF from the 2019 TurboTax desktop or online software. It even transfers PDFs created in TaxACT or H&R Block tax prep software.
We'll transfer over 100 fields to help you get a head start on your return, including:
Be aware that TurboTax does not transfer information that requires complex calculations, like depreciation.

Have to import 2020 H&R Block returns into TurboTax for 2021
@Alice1940 Are you using Windows or Mac Turbo Tax?

This is just some kind of evil joke on Intuit's part.
Regardless how many times they claim it works, it doesn't.
Nor even any help about what the error was.
It just says import unsuccessful.
Just plain worthless.
@kmh72756 You have added on to a thread over a year old about last year. What you you trying to Transfer from and into? Like a pdf from where? Into the Windows or Mac Desktop program?
From my experience last year, when transferring data from a PDF, it will only transfer the "My Info" data. None of the data to "really" need gets transferred, as that just can't be done from a PDF. Also, it matters what program that PDF was created with too. If not created with a "required" program (for lack of a better word) then nothing will transfer.
Bottom line is, you'll probably need to enter everything from scratch that first year using TurboTax.
