Can I e-file with an IP-Pin rather than AGI with TurboTax?

My e-file was rejected because the IRS didn't recognize the AGI from my previous year's tax return (filed with Turbo Tax) and I'd really like to e-file again with my IP-PIN but I don't see how to do that on TurboTax. Is it possible?

If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2020 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2020 AGI might not be in the IRS system.   Try using zero instead.

If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.

To be clear ... you need BOTH the IP PIN   AND  the AGI to efile the return.

But where do I input the IP-PIN in TurboTax? I only see the signature PIN (which says to choose any 5 numbers) and not a place to put the IP PIN (which is 6 numbers assigned by the IRS)

Can I e-file with an IP-Pin rather than AGI with TurboTax?

That's incorrect. Unfortunately, there are instances where the software is now requesting both.

"When self-preparing your taxes and filing electronically, you must sign and validate your electronic tax return by entering your prior-year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or your prior-year Self-Select PIN.

Generally, tax software automatically enters the information for returning customers. If you are using a software product for the first time, you may have to enter the information yourself.

If you have an Identity Protection (IP) PIN (via a CP01A or the Get an IP PIN Tool), you must enter it when prompted by your software. It will serve to verify your identity instead of your prior-year AGI or prior-year Self Select PIN. You can opt into the IP PIN program through the online tool."
