Can I claim my brother as a dependent this year? Been told too many different answers.
If your brother meets the income limit you can claim him on your tax return as a dependent. For 2019 that limit is the standard deduction of $12,200 for single persons. If he meets the IRS interactive tool to check dependent eligibility you should have no problems claiming him on your tax return.
