Can I claim my brother as a dependent this year? Been told too many different answers.
- He is disabled, cannot drive but started working this year, earned 10,000 gross. Was told age and income doesn’t matter if they are disabled.
- I would be claiming him as a qualifying child.
- My mother doesn’t work, receives social security so she isn’t claiming him.
- He doesn’t provide more than half of his own support.
- Did the IRS interactive tool to check dependent eligibility and it said I am allowed to claim him.
