Can I attach a form?

Sorry--you cannot attach a pdf to an e-file.

Can I attach a form?

If the form is listed on form 8453, you can still e-file and then mail in form 8453 with the PDF.  following the filing instructions

Can I attach a form?

Thanks. The source of my confusion...

"New York State Information Worksheet" Part VIII "Additional Information for E-Filed returns... "Electronic PDF Attachments.  PDFs that you have selected to attach to your State e-file return are listed below"

A table which solicits "Description" and "Filename" follows.

Are we saying that TurboTax is not letting me "select" PDFs to attach?  It seems like NY State will.

Two more follow-up questions: The forms I have printed, through TurboTax, and via a direct NY State download, include the "happy" statement running down the right margin: "NO HANDWRITTEN ENTRIES, OTHER THAN SIGNATURE, ON THIS FORM".

I have a few PDFs to add to this NY State return. Nothing is handwritten, though some of the forms have text (typed) explanations. Am I to take "NO HANDWRITTEN...." literally, or does this really mean that the only input allowed is what fits in the boxes?

Lastly: can I e-file for the Federal, and mail in for the states?

Thanks.
