For Tax Year 2018, One of my employers did NOT report CA SDI in my W2 (Box 14 or any other boxes). I contacted them, but was told that they are not required to correct my W2 in this case.
My second employer has this info in my W2.
Unfortunately, between my two employers in 2018, I over contributed to CA SDI, so I need to get back the excess contribution.
Can someone share your advice / experience?
Can I just add the missing CA SDI in TurboTax W2 Box 14? This would be the easiest fix. However, the problem is that the W2 furnished to IRS by my employer will be different from the one from my tax return. Would this be a problem?

Do your paychecks show it coming out? Do you still have your paystubs?
hi @VolvoGirl Thank you for responding.
Yes, I have all my pay stubs.
For my first employer in 2018, they deducted CA SDI until the amount reached $1,149.67, then it stopped the deduction. Looks like $1,149.67 is the Max. amount for CA SDI.
But my second employer started the deduction again.

Since reporting CA SDI on a W-2 is a state requirement and not a Federal requirement, I suggest that you contact the CA EDD that administrates the CA SDI. Here is their website.

They can probably tell you how to proceed and go after the employer if CA law requires the employer to report it on the W-2.
