CA Form 3554 - New employment credit

Why is CA Form 3554 included in my CA tax return?  I have never owned a business.

To remove this credit, you need to go into your state interview section. 

Proceed through the screens until you see the page which says Take a look at California credits and taxes.  

Under Business and investment credits, you will see a line titled New Employment Credit. 

Select start or revisit.  You should make sure you answer no when it asks if you want to claim this credit.

This form only comes up during review.  There is no option not to claim the credit, even when the no box is checked in response to do you want to claim credits

You can delete Form 3554.

Here's the general procedure for viewing the forms list and deleting unwanted forms, schedules, and worksheets in TurboTax Online:

1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
