Are you able to use TurboTax Premier online? I use Chrome OS and cannot install the software on my computer.

Because I use a Chromebook, I know the software can't be downloaded and install on my computer. I thought I would be able to use the license code to use the web-based version of TurboTax. Has anyone had success with this? Or has anyone been able to run TurboTax on Chrome OS?

Sorry ... you need to get a refund of the downloaded program you cannot use  and then pay the totally separate online fee ... the downloaded activation code will not work on the online system.

Turbo Tax still has a Free Edition for very simple returns. But they are no longer participating in the IRS Free File website.

If you purchased the Premier desktop edition from TurboTax and your computer OS is a Chromebook you will not be able to install the TurboTax software.  Request a refund for your purchase.

The TurboTax online editions are separate programs from the desktop editions with different price points.  You can use any of the TurboTax online editions with your Chromebook computer - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

The license code you received for the desktop software is NOT used with the online editions.

It is unfortunate. I own a Windows PC only for the purpose of TurboTax. The rest of the time I use a Chromebook. The disk version of TurboTax is the least expensive.
