I have received a rejection for my amended return. Rejection code: F1040X-007-01
After reading what others have done to fix this error, largely on this (https://www.reddit.com/r/tax/comments/me0ud0/rejected_amended_return_1040x/) forum, it appears that one of the family-related credits questions in the EasyStep view that generates an entry on the 1040 form I can see in the Forms view is not able to produce a 0. In particular, once I go to file I find that Form 1040-X Line 7 (0.) does not match Form 1040 Line 21 (blank). This appears to match the explanation for the error I got in the original email from TurboTax informing me of the rejection.
This appears to only be true on the *PAID* desktop version I have (Deluxe for Mac), but is easily resolved using the free online version.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems that you have resolved your error message for a rejected return, but just in case, here is a TurboTax article that explains what to do if your return is rejected.
I have definitely not resolved the issue yet. I think I have understood the error in terms of which boxes on which forms are erroneous, but I cannot get TurboTax to change them appropriately. In fact after many hours of searching and attempting to do this in various ways, I just got the same rejection code a few minutes ago.
I appreciate the tips in the video link, but none of them are helpful. As far as I can tell, this appears to be a bug in the TurboTax software. If indeed it is not a bug, could anyone on your end provide instructions for specifically changing Form 1040 Line 21? Based on the rejection code, I need to make this box read "0." but cannot with the Mac version of Deluxe.
Thank you.
Can you go to forms mode and do a command + click at the same time and then override with a zero?
Unfortunately this does not work. I also tried all the modifier keys in the OS's keyboard settings with no luck.
On a few of the other sheets, there are a few boxes which can add and remove an X from. The vast majority of the fields cannot be edited however. Is there by any chance a "locked" setting that I can turn off?
Thanks again.

Was this resolved because I am having the same problem?
For me it was just resolved a week or two ago. The issue was resolved through a software update -- I did nothing different at all. Oddly, instead of making both fields zero, it made both fields blank.
If you're getting the same rejection code, have you tried the tips folks on that reddit message board were saying worked for them? That is, have you tried going through the "credits & deductions" section to make sure that all the child care related sections have a blue "0." rather than just being blank?
Good luck!
If that doesn't help though, I'd recommend calling them. It being April 15, the call volume might be high, but then again this year the deadline isn't April 15 so maybe it'll be ok. If you don't have a reason to want to be in by April 15, maybe if you tried tomorrow (or over the weekend if they do that, I'm not sure) you'd have better luck. I got on the phone with a representative pretty quickly and they understood the issue pretty quickly via a screen share and I got the sense they might be able to help -- but before I could get any such help, I found out the issue was resolved by a software update. Hope something in here helps...
