That is for the Desktop CD/Download program plus sales tax.  What are you comparing it to?  Online versions don't open until December.  And the price will change during the year.  They may have sale prices or the price will increase.  You might be able to find it cheaper at retail stores when it is available.

If you didn't already pay for your 2020 product yet, you can either purchase directly from the TurboTax website, or you may find the product at a discount as a download at Amazon, etc. ... do a google search. 

ALSO if you did not know ... ALL of the downloaded versions have ALL the same forms and capabilities so you can "cheap out" and get just the Deluxe (careful since it is sold with and without the state program) or Basic if you don't need to file a state.  After you buy, if you really really need the extra "help" in the higher version you can simply upgrade at that time but most find they don't need it.  

CAUTION:  There are a lot of scam sites, so do not try to purchase from any "too-good-to-be-true" discount site on the Internet that you find in a search.   You might end up with pirated software, ID theft, malware, etc.   Only a few large well-known sites like Amazon, NewEgg, Staples, Office Depot, etc., are authorized to sell TurboTax downloads.

Critter -- Thank you kindly for your very helpful response. I file a simple return, standard deduction and such, with the exception of using the electronic download function for stock sales and interest from Fidelity.  Do I need the premier version to use this function to calculate Form D items?

NO ... as I said ALL of the downloaded programs can handle ALL situations.
