After many years of satisfied use of TurboTax paid premier versions, I am finding it impossible to connect to a support person on a call this year. It used to be straightforward in the past. Is this a common observation/experience ?

Did you use the Desktop installed program before?  What are you using this year?  Before calling support try asking your question here.  We can probably help you.
