My router is pfsense-based, and I am running pfBlockerNG, too. I must turn off pfBlockerNG temporarily in order to authenticate Turbo Tax 2024. If you are running another type of router software besides pfsense, pfBlockerNG blocks ads by preventing a connection to certain web sites. If you have this type of ad and web site blocker installed, you may want to check if it interfering with Turbo Tax 2024 authentication.
My Turbotax Deluxe 2024 wouldn't activate either. I tried all the same things many others have ... disabling firewall, adding exceptions for apps and websites, etc. Things that work for one person don't work for another, and everyone is baffled. Intuit has no idea and doesn't care because they just keep blindly selling and don't tell support staff how anything works.
I FINALLY got my TurboTax to activate with YET ANOTHER SETTING CHANGE:
1. Go to Control Panel --> Internet Options (aka "Internet Properties" in the title bar)
2. Click the tab titled "Connections"
3. At the bottom of the panel, click the "LAN settings" button.
4. In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box that appears, see if "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is checked. If it is, it could be pointing to a background process that isn't running; perhaps a security filter for web traffic; perhaps something that isn't even installed; perhaps some security crapware from McAfee, Norton, or Microsoft.
5. If it is checked, click the Advanced button and write down what all the settings are. THEN UNCHECK the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" box and CLICK OK.
6. Activate your Turbot Axe software. (This worked for me)
7. When finished, bo back to the Proxy Server LAN settings and re-check the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" box and verify that the Advanced settings have been restored to what they were before.
If you discover that the proxy server settings were bogus or obsolete in the first place, then don't bother to restore the setting.
Mine was set to redirect HTTP traffic to IP address 127.0.0.1, port 8082, which would be a local process running on my computer. The TurboTax activation server probably got rejected by it, causing the "not connected to the Internet" misinformation message. I have no idea what would be running locally on that port, so I am leaving the box UN-checked for now. **bleep** crapwhere is everywhere.
This is now over 30 days after this problem and still cannot get logged in. I have activated the key on the website but can not get the software to work due to this FAKE AND WORTHLESS login program that is broken. I always buy the CD so I can get past this and they are not allowing CD purchase. Intuit is worse every year. Now wasted 30 days just trying to activate and software still will not let me in and no help from intuit other then countless hours wasted!!!
@ACitizen You can now buy an install CD for $10 AFTER you buy the download and License Code for the version you want. That’s if you don’t want to use the download method or want to reinstall or install it another computer.

Where did you buy it? Big Home Tax is a scam and won’t work.
I've had the same issues. I did speak to support at intuit/turbotax. On the phone for 2 hours. I have determined that turbotax 2024 is not compatible with Windows 10 or 11. I purchased TurboTax 2024 Premier twice. What a waste.
I purchased from amazon directly. I know my key is valid because on the same computer that will not let me login to TT program I can login to my TT Account and did already activate my licensees key on my website account.
In short this is a TT issue as multiple locations i have tried failed with this I even tried a vpn to validate and of course it failed
Make sure you're installing/running TurboTax on your C drive. I've personally used TurboTax without issues on both Win 10/11 computers.
Here's some info on Troubleshooting TurboTax Desktop Issues, How to Switch Out of 'S' Mode for Windows 11, and Download for Visual C and C++ that may help you.
