I have started to prepare my forms and taxes for 2025 and I noticed that form 1099-B is not available. If I try to "open form" and type "1099" there is no option for form 1099-B. Hopefully this gets rectified in the next release.

if you go through interview section rather than forms mode it says "This section is unavailable while we work on updates for recent tax law changes." and gives you a link to sign up for alerts
It is typically mid to late February before financial institutions have data available for import into tax software. You will have to wait several months for a 1099B.
I know the actual forms won’t be available until Feb but i have good estimates that i can enter into the software if it is working properly.
I totally agree with dminches. I have a very good estimate of my 1099_B amounts now. Part of year end planning for me is Roth Conversions to maximize the lower tax brackets while I can. I am retired and are trying to hedge as much of Required Minimum Distribution before I reach the age of 73 as possible. So, converting traditional IRAs to Roths are part of my year end tax planning until I reach that age.
It really bugs me that TurboTax does not have this section ready so I can properly plan in a timely manner. It was the same last year, and I almost didn't use TurboTax this year because of this. But I have been using it for about 20 years now, so the convenience outweighs the annoyance. I just have to spend the last few days of 2025, which should be a family holiday, figuring taxes manually and converting IRAs to Roths. Boo.
The best you can do dminches is sign up or email alerts when they finally get around to this part of the software that we paid them for already.
Turbo Tax - hire more programmers!!! Surely your profits can handle the salary of a few more... This part of the tax law has been published for a while now.
Every Thursday there is an update so I just check then.
I have the tax calculation coded into a spreadsheet so I have a pretty good estimate of what my tax is for the year but I like to match Turbo tax just as a form of peer review.
@RH55 use this website - very accurate. I have the same issue you do - attempting to maximize Roth converstions. I use this website very easily.
Thank you! Like dminches, I have developed my own spreadsheet. So, I put my numbers into this calculator and have validated my spreadsheet. I will definitely use this. Thank you for sharing!
Still no 1099-B.
That doesn't show up when I click on "open forms".
@dminches Apparently the 2025 desktop editions have not yet been updated for the Form 1099-B Worksheet under Schedule D.
Right. That's what we have been discussing here, that the 1099-B form isn't available on the desktop version.
