Working on a different account is not proof the software works. The issue starts seemingly at random, so on the other profile the conditions simply may not have been met yet to trigger the issue. The troubleshooting guide from TurboTax that says how to uninstall it is clearly not for the current OS, it referenced files and locations that don’t exist. So I’m far more inclined to believe it is an issue with turbo tax(specifically related to the most recent Mac OS version) especially since a turbo tax employee confirmed that there is a known issue with turbo tax working on the latest Mac OS.
I have the very same problem The customer service agents didn't have a clue what to do after three attempts Turbotax must be aware of the issue and chooses to ignore it!
TurboTax does not ignore legitimate problems. We report issues and they are mitigated based on priority. 2020 has been quite the year and we are slightly behind but most issues has to resolved collaboratively with the IRS. Hopefully your issue will be solved soon.
Same problem - no solution.
I had the same problems as everyone else here. Deleted and loaded many times, was on the phone with Turbo for over 8 hours, no help. What did work was adding another user and it came up perfectly to file a new return, HOWEVER it would not let me access the 2020 return I had spent countless hours entering when it locked me out. If anyone knows how to access my return entered from a different user, that would be great.

I assume you are using a Mac since that's what most of this thread about, but didn't say what Mac version. I'll see if @macuser_22 has any additional suggestion.
There are many ways to access files from another mac user. You can change permissions.\https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/change-permissions-for-files-folders-or-disks-mchlp1203/mac
You can use dropbox:

how I fix this problem my turbo tax 2020 don't open
Can you please provide specific details on the issue you are experiencing with your TurboTax software?
I have turbo tax on my Apple computer. Was working fine until I tried to file the return, then it kicked me out of the program and won't let me back in. When I click on turbo tax icon, it starts to load and then just kicks out. No error message, nothing just kicks me out.

First restart the Mac.
If the problem persists then:
Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.
The best remedy is to totally uninstall TurboTax and all associate files and then re-install. That will not delete or change any .tax2020 data file that had already been created with the tax data.
To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled. If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.
To remove TurboTax from your computer, you'll need administrative rights.

I talked to a turbo tax tech person and we did all the things you suggested and nothing worked. I have had to buy an android computer and download turbo tax on that.
I cant open TT 2021 for MAC. I now have Monterey 12.1 I downloaded it and was able to open it under previous OS.
I now get this message.
"TurboTax cannot be opened because the developer can not be verified." I am given an option to move TT to trash or Cancel.

if you get the message "TurboTax cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" then that is caused by the Apple "Gatekeeper" introduced with OS X 10.15 (Catalina).
That has nothing to do with TurboTax and will happen for any application not purchased from the Apple Store.
See this Apple article on this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491
And this TurboTax help article: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/troubleshooting/help/turbotax-for-mac-won-t-open-when-installed/00...
For older Mac systems when TurboTax will not open.
See:
Be sure that System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General -> Allow apps downloaded from App Store and identified developers is checked.
Go to the Applications folder and select the TurboTax application in the Finder and right click with the mouse (or control click) ans select the top "open". That should force the first open. After that it should open normally.

Thank you very much for your prompt and thorough reply.
As you advised, I opened System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General. I found a message regarding TT 2021 with an option to Open despite the "developer not verified" status. I chose this and the app opened, updated, and allowed me to enter data.
Problem solved. Thanks again.
