Why does the Standard Deduction Worksheet not work correctly?

That is; the correct deduction of $26,600 appears on Form 1040 , but if you click on the data source and go to the Worksheet, then it is incomplete and has no entries for lines 3a, 3b, 3c. Line 3c should have $26,600 for two married seniors!

Why does the Standard Deduction Worksheet not work correctly?

that worksheet is only in the case where someone can claim you and or spouse as a dependent.  look just above line 1.

since this would not seem to be the case the form is not relevant and that's why its incomplete

can't say why TT displays it, but it changes nothing.  MFJ both over 65, $26,600 std deduction which is what you're getting.
