I have ENTERED MEDICAL DEDUCTIONS AND WHEN TO CHECK HOW THE FORM RECORDED MY ENTRIES. FORMS HAS A DIFFERENT TOTAL THAN SHOWN ON THE SUMMARY SCREEN FOR EACH CATEGORY I'VE COMPLETED. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. THE DIFFERENCE IS ABOUT $5,000. I NEED A CPA TO ANSWER THIS. THANKS

Which form are you looking at? Your schedule A? Medical expenses are only deductible for the amount in excess of 7.5% of your AGI. Example, if your AGI is $100,000, only your medical expenses over $7,500 will count towards your Itemized Deductions. So, if you entered $$12,500 in medical expenses, your actual deduction would only be $5,000.
The summary screen is showing what you entered, not what you actually will get a deduction for.
