We purchased land with a derelict house on it and paid cash. After closing, we razed the house and now it's an empty lot. Can we write-off anything beside county tax?

You can deduct property taxes (county taxes) paid. And that's all!

Go to Federal Taxes > Deductions & Credits > Your Home (Show more) > Property (Real estate) Taxes.
