Turbotax will not allow me to switch from standard deduction to itemized deductions. I have tried to manually select itemized deductions but it never keeps it.

Is there a trick to forcing it to pick the itemized deductions? I was hoping there woud be an option to fix it in the federal review, but I did not see anything.

I'm sharing with you a TurboTax FAQ that should explain how to change your deduction method.  Please post back if you continue to have difficulty.

Keep in mind that several deductions are "limited".  For example, you may have $20,000 of medical deductions.  But the tax law allows only the deductions that EXCEED 7.5% of your AGI.  So just because your total deductions exceed the standard deduction doesn't necessarily mean the itemized deductions is your best choice.

How do I change from the standard deduction to itemized (or vice- versa)?

Why do you want to itemize?   Should it be more than the Standard Deduction or are you filing Married filing Separate and need to itemize because your spouse is?  For MFS go to My Info and look for that question.
