Hi my version is 2019.41.11.194 . I still do not have the form 8936 as of 10:30 pm EST 2/13/2020. When can I expect to see it? I ran Online -> Check for updates and it told me my TurboTax was up to date.
Thank you @SusanY1
I downloaded and updated the app you recommended. 2018 Amend.
Same Error.
What may I try next?
Just for fun, I pretended it was purchased in 2019 and it worked on my 2019 (online) taxes. So the question becomes, "When is the roll-out date for amendments?"
Recap: Trying to amend 2018 returns using Form 8936 for my Qualified Zero SR purchased in 2018. On several computers, browsers, and now both the online and offline "Amend 2018" app give the same error suggestion (that is wrong)
"Your two-wheeled vehicle was purchased after 12/31/19"
Form 8936 instructions 2019 revision state vehicles purchased in 2018, 19, and 20 are now included.
Thank you,
Has the form been corrected yet?

Not yet.
It's Feb. 14, 2020 and just did the announced update. Had expected to see the new 2019 forms, particularly 8936. Disappointed still not on the list.

The Form 8936 is there - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_online_individual.html
Thank you for your patience while I did some research for the 2018 issue on the Zero SR bike.
After looking into it further the Zero SR is one of the vehicles that was added to the list of vehicles eligible for the tax credit retroactively on December 20, 2020. It was not on the original list for the 2018 tax season. If you mentioned that above, I apologize that I missed it - this has been a busy thread and one of many on this topic!
TurboTax amendment software for 2018 has not yet been updated for any of the "tax extenders" that were made retroactive for 2018. Our developers are still finalizing all of the last-minute changes to the 2019 tax year.
Once 2019 is finalized and complete, they will work to update the 2018 amendment program for the changes that were signed into law on 12/20/2019.
Check for an update to the amendment software in approximately six weeks. That is not a firm date but I do not expect the update for 2018 for the retroactive changes to be available earlier than that.
I'll keep this post in my list, though, and if I see any updates regarding that program I'll tag you and let you know! I truly don't expect to see much action on that right away, though.
It's Feb. 14, have downloaded the most recent update that arrived this morning. Still no Form 8936. I have the deluxe version. What's up?
It's Feb. 14. Have updated. 8936 not there.
The form was released on February 12th. If you are using the CD/Download version of TurboTax, please be sure to run the "Check for updates" feature.
If you are using TurboTax through our website and you do not see the screen posted in the screenshot located further up in this thread when you navigate to the section for the credit, please log out of TurboTax, clear your browser cache & cookies, close your browser, and then re-start to ensure you see the lastest refresh of the program.
@wrgreer
Thank you @SusanY1 will check in again in late March.
@SusanY1 ok... and when can we expect the form that is in the online version (8936) to actually work correctly? Sure, it's there, but it's doing the math wrong and anyone who purchased an EV who's tax credit has started to decay (IE: Tesla) is going to be filing a return with 2-4x as much credit as they're legally entitled to.
I'm surprised this fix hasn't happened yet, with your "Calculations Guarantee" and all that.
So I filled form 8936 with my taxes and now I'm stuck on pending. It has been 3 days and no movement. does anyone know of there is anything that can be done about this?
The issue with Form 8936, Qualified Plug-in Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit is projected to be fixed by 02/21/2020.

That is fine, but I have already submitted my tax return and it is pending. I realized it was calculating the credit wrong, but it allowed me to manually enter the correct credit, which I did. So the tax refund I am supposed to get is correct and I have already submitted my tax return. It has been pending for 3 days now.
What am I supposed to do? Will it be accepted by the IRS despite the faulty form, since my numbers are still correct? Or will it be rejected and then I will have to submit it again even though my refund will not change?
Please advise.
