Hi,
I'm a student under F1 and this year I'm filling as a resident alien using the IRS Free File.
I have followed the instructions and inputted the information from W2 (it correspondes to the income of the second semester of 2020) and the information on the 1098-T (only boxes 1 and 5 have values). My income and corresponding withheld taxes (not a negligible amount) for the first semester of 2020 are indicated in my 1042-S (income code 16). How do I input the information in the 1042-S?
Thank you in advance!

You can enter your 1042-S with Code 16 as an Additional Scholarship in the Education section (screenshot).

What about the taxes withheld indicated in the 1042-S? Can I put it in Other Income Taxes > Withholding not already in W-2 or 1099?
Also, do I have to upload the 1042-S somewhere or mail it to the IRS along with the taxes filed?
Also, I just checked and my 1098-T includes the income specified in the 1042-S, the problem is that it does not include the taxes withheld.
1. Yes, to enter tax withheld on the 1042-S.
2. No, you do not need to upload the 1042S.
3. Be sure that you are not paying taxes on the scholarship income twice. Entering the 1042S for income is perfect BUT if your scholarships are more than tuition, you may have some showing up in your wages and that would not be right. See How do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?
