Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
This is crap!!
There are 15 pages of people proclaiming their refund wasn't for the full amount.
I too only received a portion of my federal refund.
I even tried to calculate in deductions for what I owe for state tax, and subtracted the child tax credit, and the amount is still not correct. Not even close!! There is definitely a scam going on, and somebody needs to get to the bottom of it!!
I know this much, if this doesn't get corrected, I'm done with TurboTax and Intuit.

If so, what was the amount of the refund on the filed return and how much less was deposited?
Well, glad you pointed me to look at the .gov website. It does appear the TurboTax application can't compute very well!! Here is what the IRS.gov site states
That is the list of generic reasons they give if they changed the Recovery rebate credit on line 30. How much is on 1040 line 30?
Did you not get the 3rd Stimulus payment? Or qualify for more? Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. The IRS shows they already sent it to you.
Double check your bank statements and Check your IRS account (both accounts if married)
Your Online Account | Internal Revenue Service
If the IRS thinks they sent it to you but you didn't get it request a trace for a missing third Stimulus payment
Line 30 states 2,800
Lines 27a and 28 through 31 = 3117

Yes, the IRS sent me my refund minus the amount on line 30 - so I guess it's right...?
I think TT confused many people by asking if we received a 3rd stimulus. In actually we only received two checks totaling the $2800. That's what made most of this mess!
Yes the 2800 WAS the third Stimulus payment. It's not asking if you got 3 payments. It is only asking if you got the 3rd Stimulus payment. The 3rd Stimulus Payment EIP3 is for 1,400 per person and came out starting in March 2021.
You should have got IRS letter 6475 saying how much they sent you. If you are married you would each get a letter for half. But you needed to enter the total amount you got so you don't try to claim it again on 1040 line 30. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.
When you fill out Turbo Tax it starts out by giving you the full amount you qualify for. Then at the end you enter how much you already got so you don't get it again. A lot of people forgot they got the deposit last March - May. Or missed one payment and entered the wrong amount. Then when the IRS reduces their refund and they check their bank accounts they have been finding the payments.
STIMULUS PAYMENTS
EIP1 The first Stimulus payment was 1,200 for each spouse and 500 for each dependent under 17.
EIP2 The second Stimulus was 600 per person and dependents under 17. The 2nd stimulus checks started going out at the very end of December 2020 and continued into January/Feb 2021.
The first 2 Stimulus payments went on your 2020 return even if you got the second one in Jan/Feb 2021.
EIP3 The 3rd Stimulus payment started going out in March 2021 and is for 1,400 for each person listed on your tax return, no age limit. The IRS used your 2020 (or 2019) return to send the checks out fast. If your 2021 return changes and you qualify for more you can claim the extra as the Recovery Rebate Credit on 1040 line 30. But line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. Not the amount you already got. The IRS also sent out letter 6475 to tell you how much they sent you . If you are married then each spouse should get a letter for half.
I am so pleased someone relayed this in simple articulate terms. Makes it easier to understand for a lot of people. This post should always display anytime someone has a question. Thanks!
How do I add myself to the lawsuit. They are a scam. I would not have chosen the SBTPG option had I known they charge $44 from my IRS Federal Refund. I would have paid my TurboTax fees with a credit card. It's a scam. It wasn't clear there would be charge.
It was on several screens and you had to agree to it.
