Why do I have $1 in my foreign tax credit? I did not enter any foreign tax related deductions. I have a foreign bank account, and that was it.

Did you download a combined investment (1099) statement from your broker?  If you have an investment account, they could have incurred foreign taxes.  To find it will have to look closely at your 1099B from your investment.

Many thanks. I was able to find it on the 1099 form, there is a depositary share transaction and it is responsible for the $1 credit.
