I'm using TurboTax Premier Desktop 2024. When I click on "Import from ItsDeductible Online", I get prompted to login to ItsDeductible. After logging in, nothing is downloaded. My charitable items in ItsDeductible are correctly entered into year 2024. I'm stuck.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Is this how you are trying to import?
From the Left side menu select Tax Tools choose "Tools"
pop up screen "Tools Center"
select "Topic List"
Your Deductions & Credits
"Tax Breaks"
scroll down to "Import ItsDeductible Online".
In TT Premier Desktop 2024, there isn't a "Tax Breaks" item. Instead there is "Charitable Contributions"
From the "Tools" tab
Under "Your Deductions and Credits"
_______"Deductions and Credits"
___________"Charitable Contributions"
This takes me to the "Donations to Charity" in the desktop walk-through.
From there "Do you have an account with ItsDeductible Online" on which I click "yes" button.
I go through the Itsdeductible login step.
There is a brief popup message that says "Connecting to ItsDeductible". The Import never happens.
Instead I'm left at a "Donations" screen in the walk-through.
If using TurboTax desktop, make sure you have loaded the most recent update. If the update has been completed, try the manual update download instead:
@mikemlowe
Manual Update downloaded and installed. No change in ItsDeductible behavior. No data imported.
Well, no help with this here. Still broken.
If you can view your 2024 data in It's Deductible, but it is not importing into TurboTax, it may be a connectivity issue, based on what you state is happening when you try to import.
Here's How to Turn Off Anti-Virus Programs. This may resolve the issue.
That url is mis-titled. It has nothing to do with turning anything off.
I added the two intuit updaters to 'Allowed Apps' in Windows Defender Firewall. It had no effect.
How to edit the list of allowed apps in Windows Defender Firewall (and block others)
I also temporarily disabled Windows Defender Firewall. It had no effect.
ItsDeductible still does not Import in TT Premier 2024 Desktop.
Another user had this problem.
[quote] After a very, very lengthy call with Intuit, the problem persisted, so I acquiesced to the most involved approach, specifically doing a complete reinstallation of Windows 11 -- it worked (although is obviously very time and labor intensive). [/qoute]
Intuit needs to look into this.
I have the same issue :(
Thanks for sending the Windows article. For Windows 11, we have this in our database: How to Switch Out of 'S' Mode for Windows 11. Since we're Tax Experts in this forum (and not Tech Support) it's extremely difficult to diagnose a particular user's issue with no knowledge of their individual computer configuration. Sometimes you can get a support tech to get into your computer and find the problem. I've had to use them myself this season; once successfully and once not.
Glad your persistence paid off for you!
It would be nice if I could ItsDeductible to work with my TurboTax. I have contacted support and they could not help me. Do I just say screw it and not take any donations. Thanks TurboTax for the poor support and having a product that does not interface.
Windows on my systems is already NOT in S mode.
It sure would be helpful if the Tax Experts in this forum had a means to escalate to Tech Support. Getting to them by a customer seems well hidden.
As an isolation test, I went back to TT2023 and deleted the deductions. Then invoked ItsDeductible Import.
The Import for 2023 worked. Because it worked for 2023, the problem for 2024 is NOT caused by WindowsOS. The Import failure with TT2024 desktop is with the 2024 TT software and how it doesn't work with ItsDeductible Online.
Our tech team is currently looking into this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
