TurboTax overstating my 1099-INT amount

TurboTax shows my 1099-INT as over $20k more than all the items add up to. Is it secretly counting an entry twice (and if so, what can I do about it)? Or bringing some other item in under that category?

Thanks, but there appears to be no wrong entry, just a wrong total.  I tried deleting the 1099-INT that came close to the overage, then putting it back in by hand, but the discrepancy is still the same.

From some posts here, it seems as if there was some such bug several years ago, and others report that it still seemed to be around last year.

I've seen this mismatch blamed on info fro a K-1 being included under the 1099-INT category, but I don't think I have any K-1 items.

Have you reviewed the IRS Schedule B Interest and Ordinary Dividends?  The form will detail the interest income reported.

In TurboTax Online, you may print or view your full tax returns prior to filing after you have paid for the software.

  • View the entries down the left side of the screen at Tax Tools.
  • Select Print Center.
  • Select Print, save or preview this year's return.

In TurboTax Desktop, select FORMS in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
