My 47 year old son's only income is Social Security Disability of $18,000. He did receive $1,400 third impact payment. The turbotax calculator is showing $1,400 tax due. I believe this is incorrect.

Did you enter twice that he received the $1,400? You may want to use clear and start over by clicking Tax Tools>>Clear and Start over.
If your sons only income is social security, then he should not owe anything.
If your son's only income is Social Security then he is not required to file a tax return unless he has a 1095A for health insurance from the marketplace. If he already received the $1400 stimulus then he cannot get it again on a 2021 tax return.
I like to file even though it is not required just to document his financial situation. I have been able to use TurboTax to accurately do so in the past. The program should not indicate that taxes are due when they are not. Others might follow the TurboTax result and be asked to refund the payment - incorrectly.
If your son's return says he owes tax when his only income was Social Security then you entered something incorrectly when you prepared the return. Did you e-file it yet? It sounds like you have messed up somehow with the $1400 stimulus check.
I did not file. As far as entering something incorrectly- that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I did respond to the question that we did receive the $1400 Economic Impact Payment and TurboTax said that was correct the correct amount. The only other information was his name and address etc transferred from last year’s return and the entry of the Social Security Disability amount.
Who is the "we" that received the $1400? Did the $1400 go to your son or did you claim him as a dependent and get the $1400 yourself?
Sorry I misspoke - “he” received the 1400. He is a single taxpayer and takes the standard deduction. He is not claimed on anyone else’s tax return.

I couldn’t find the tools button to start over - but I did find that I must of entered the 1400 as an advance child care payment - I zeroed that out and ran the check - 1400 no longer due as taxes.
Sorry - does indeed appear that I must have entered it incorrectly. Thanks for all the help.
Where in TT is the page that leads me through the input of the Economic Impact Payment information? I am using a downloadable version of TT, have inputted everything for my two daughters. One did receive the payment, and one did not. On both returns input, I was never asked anything about the receipt (or no receipt) of the $1,400 payment. I assume I missed something. Where do I go to the TT page to enter data?
Using the TurboTax desktop editions - Click on Federal Taxes, click on Other Tax Situations, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Done with Other. The next screen will have the stimulus question in Federal Review.
Sorry, it does not. When I click "Done with Other", the next page is titled "We're Ready To Review Your Federal Return". The following 5 pages do not get me there either. Do I need to delete a previous entry to get the "Economic Impact" page to reappear?

If the taxpayer is either being claimed as a dependent or their Adjusted Gross Income in 2021 is over the maximum to be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit then the question for stimulus will not be presented.
• Single or married filing separately—$80,000
• Married filing jointly or qualifying widow(er)—$160,000
• Head of household—$120,000
I just completed a pass through TT. Never asked nor can I locate where to enter my Economic Impact Payment.
Help?
@N140ora The questions about the recovery rebate credit are in Federal Review. If the questions do not appear for you then either you said you can be claimed as someone else's dependent or your income it too high and you are not eligible.
