Why are we not receiving the whole amount we were shown at the top of TT when we filed???  I'm about $3,000 short.

@rise22   3,000 could be for the Child Tax Credit.  Did you get any Advance Child Tax Credit?  Check line 28.  It should only be the remaining half you didn't get.

No, I did NOT to the Advance child credit and i added in all my expenses of putting my child through college!!! I did it all right and I still got robbed of almost 3k! :( I will let everyone know about this and will NEVER use Turbo Tax again. I am so disappointed in them... it's hard to breath I'm so speechless about this

@Alliee20 That is a generic IRS message for when they change your tax return due to the Recovery Rebate Credit.

Did you report that you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment and the IRS removed that amount from your tax return? If so, the IRS has records which show that the 3rd stimulus payment was sent to you.

The Recovery Rebate Credit would have been entered on your Form 1040 Line 30.

Go to this IRS website for your tax account to see if the 3rd stimulus payment is entered - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not an EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...

My federal refund was $2878 when i filed through turbo tax they also said they were charging me $78 for the fees which i agreed to however turbo tax went through a third party TPG PRODUCTS SBTPG LLC and they shorted me over half my return  i only received $1,355.74. i sent an email to the tpg email they sent my "return notification" through they responded back with your request is being reviewed or whatever but that was 2 weeks ago and i haven't heard or seen any further action i have bills to pay i need this money just to survive in this world where the cost of living is constantly going up i need this resolved or i will be taking action this is absolutely ridiculous turbo tax ive seen people complain that they were shorted more then half there refund when there refund was 13000 im seeing people complain all over why haven't you cracked down on this situation your a professional company but allowing things like this to happen is not very professional.

There is also an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) to have the fees deducted.  That leaves about a 1,400 difference which is the amount of the 3rd Stimulus payment. 

 Do you have an amount on 1040 line 30?  You might have tried to claim it again.   Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. 

Double check your bank statements and check your IRS account to see what they sent you.  Check both IRS accounts if married.

my refund was shorted $3160. thats a huge amount im missing and im getting pissed because it seems like everyone that recieved money from TPG was shorted. Are they just flat out stealing peoples money?

Yeah, I entered all of the information correctly. Had every document from the IRS while filing , my expected return from Turbo tax was over 4,000usd checked the IRS site they adjusted it down to a measly $350.00. I downloaded the document that turbo tax e-filed to the feds, each line is accurate, how is there such a discrepancy? People complaining about 2g the feds outed me 4grand

How much is missing? Check 1040 line 30. A common reason this year is if you tried to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit (for the 3rd Stimulus 1,400 per person) when the IRS already sent it to you. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more. Not the amount you already got.

TT is LYING!!!!  There is NO letter from the IRS or anyone else for that matter.  GIVE US OUR MONEY!!!!!
