I own a recording studio in its own building, which I claim deductions for rent payments under. However, I also use a room in my home for recording and mixing as well. I was audited in the past and was told I could not claim both, but that seems untrue to me. Any insights? Can I claim a home office deduction along with my main location's expenses?

In order to claim the home office deduction, your home office must satisfy the conditions laid out by the IRS: exclusive and regular use AND principal place of business.
To verify if your home office meets these conditions, read this TurboTax article.
Your home office is not your main and primary business location. So you can't claim it.
