I have a K-1 from a publicly traded partnership (PAA Pipeline). An unknown foreign int exp of $1 is preventing me from e-filing. No edit attempts have allowed filing.

"Fgn Tax Code I Ln 2 col 3 is listed but no foreign source income at individual level has been listed on the K-1 Additional Information worksheet Line 1"

This is a $1 item, and it's preventing me from e-filing.

In years past, I'd be able to go in, and manually edit the form.  I cannot edit any information on my K-1.  There is a drop down which is white with blue trim, leading me to believe it's an editable field, however nothing happens I click on it.

Is this a ploy to get me to pay an extra $140 for the Tax Pro?

Also -- I don't want 'badges' for participating in an online forum.  I want to find out if there is a glitch or a workaround for this obstacle.  Ultimately, I just want to file my taxes.

Revisit the interview and work thru the screens until you reach the header "Enter Income Detail" which is just after the  screen "Enter box 16 info." Change  the interest expense from foreign to US and that should clear the error.

I hear you --- the entire K-1 is for $240.  I tried deleting just the $1 foreign component (Box 16), but something in the system wouldn't allow me to proceed it continued to flag 'a few little items we want to clean up' (or something like that.  I'm going to delete the entire K-1, re-enter it according to the advice above (from Rogge1722), and if it still won't take, send it in via mail.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I spun my wheels on this for far too long today.

Thank you for your response.

I elected to print the returns a few hours ago, and it doesn't appear I can go back and edit...  nor do I have anymore energy to dedicate to this year's return.  It's worth the  $5 to mail the return to avoid any more frustration with this K-1 that has such an immaterial impact on my tax liability or refund.

I saw you helping folks with the same issue on the message board, and appreciate your help!  I wouldn't be surprised if I made an entry mistake, although I have recorded this type of K-1 in the past, without any issues.

It was extremely frustrating not being able to find a customer support phone number, and being repeatedly advised to purchase the Tax Pro package by the chat-bot.
