There is no federal first time homebuyer credit.  If your state has such a credit it will come up as you prepare your state return.

And....you say you purchased the home in 2021.  Did you file a 2021 tax return?  The current online software program is only for 2022 returns--no other year.

Well I wasn't offered the credit last year either. I thought maybe it was because I purchased home at end of 2021 and didn't make first payment until Jan.2022

But I have read several things from several sources online stating Biden signed a new first time home buyers credit up to $15,000 if bought in 2021 and the amount changes in 2022 and 2023. Also states its not a loan to be repayed or a grant.

What is the Current Status?

As of February 21, 2023, the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit is still a bill and has not yet been passed into law.

Check out the current status of all of the proposed government programs for first-time home buyers.

Not likely to happen at all with Republicans controlling one arm of Congress.  This is a situation where one party can propose all kinds of pie-in-the-sky bills, including bills they themselves would never pass on their own (if this is so great an idea, why didn't they do it before the election when they had total control), and then blame the other side for blocking.  (I'm not trying to pick sides; both parties do this when they are out of power.)
