You can go back through the section for property tax.
Go to Federal return>Deductions and Credits>Mortgage Interest, Refinancing, and Insurance (Form 1098)>
go through this section and input 0 or remove the property tax info.
This will delete this entry.
This did not work for me. My taxes were rejected (2) more times. My wife claimed these credits. The mortgage is not in my name and we are filing separately.
If you are filing as Married Filling Separate you must both use the same deduction method.
You either have to use the standard deduction which would be $12,400 for each of you. or you must both use Itemized deductions.
If your wife has the mortgage deduction, and qualified for Itemized Deductions you will have to do the same, but will probably have a zero for deductions.
This may be why your returns were rejected.
