I recently received an IRS rejection notice for the 8962 I filed in April 2021 due to a TurboTax form error. I had the same marketplace plan for all of 2021, but only received the Advance Premium Tax Credit starting in May, so not all of the columns of the 1095A were the same for all months of the year. Column A Monthly Enrollment Premium and B Monthly second lowest cost silver plan (SLCSP) were the same for all months, but column C APTC was zero for Jan-Apr and populated with numbers for May-Dec. I entered this into the 1095A form on TurboTax. When initially filling out the 8962, I checked Row 10 as "No", then populated the 1095A as described above. Because Column A and B in the 1095A were the same, TurboTax automatically changed Row 10 "No" to "Yes" and would not show the monthly data on Rows 12-23. It would only show the Annual Totals on Row 11. This did not show as an error in the check before filing. This lack of Row 12-23 data is what caused the IRS to reject this form.
I ran a test and the only way I could get the monthly data to show up on the 8962 was to change the value of one of the rows of Column B on the 1095A data entry form. I duplicated this behavior live with an IRS Agent on the phone and he told me that TurboTax is wrong to prevent showing the Row 12-23 monthly data if Column A and B on the 1095A have the same data for all months because C could still have different monthly data throughout the year. This must be shown BY MONTH on the 8962. IRS agent said TurboTax software needs to be corrected to show month by month data on 8962 Rows 12-23 and allow Row 10 to be checked as "No" even if Column A and B have the same numbers every month of the year, because Column C was different for various months of the year.
The error that caused the rejection from the IRS has flowed through to HealthCare.gov who are now requiring me to send them 5 years of 1040s and all supporting documents even though I only had Marketplace insurance since 2021 or all APTC will have to be repaid!!!
Thanks TurboTax for creating a massive hassle for me.
How will this coding error be fixed in TurboTax Premier Mac CD for 2021 and future years? (Yes, I downloaded the most recent updates.)

That should be filed in April 2022 for Tax year 2021.
I forwarded your message to the TurboTax Moderators of this forum to be sent to the programmers of the software. There is no guarantee that this problem will be corrected for 2022 but at least it has been reported for examination.
Thanks. I didn’t know how to report it directly. If it’s not corrected in the code, then we need a manual workaround to enter the monthly data directly into the 8962.
